Alicja Bachleda is a Polish actress born in Mexico and is famous for the roles she played in hit movies like Trade and Ondine. Over a very short career in the film industry Bachleda has already appeared in movies next to the likes of talented stars Collin Farrel, Kevin Kline, Tim Roth and more. She started her acting career at the early age of 15 and landed a role in Pan Tadeusz: The Last Foray in Lithuania in 1999 in her home country.

Bachleda’s character in the movie was Zosia Horeszkowna, who was part of a family in the late 1980’s. The family members thought that they would receive independence when they joined the Napoleon forces when he came to invade the country. The movie was directed by award winning director Andrzej Wajda. In the same year she received a role in The Gateway to Europe as Zosia (not the same character as her previous movie).

In 2000 she played Anna Stogowska in the Polish film Syzyfowe Prace and then moved on to Heart over Head in 2001, a movie about a boy, Jakob, who returns to his homeland years after he left when his mother died. Bachleda played Wanda in the movie alongside Tom Schilling. The following year Alicja Bachleda landed a recurring role in the hit Polish TV Series / soap Na Dobre I Na Zle and played Anna Bochenek for 37 episodes from 2002 – 2004. The series is still going strong today and is in its twelfth season in the country.

Bachleda then moved on to Summer Storm in 2004, where she played Anke, and then the TV movie Das Blut der Templer, where she played Stella in the same year before landing a guest star role in the TV series Sperling, where she played Alina Serkovic in the episode named Sperling und der Fall Wachutka in 2006. In the same year she played Ewa in Stealth, directed by Lionel Baier. In early 2007 Alicja Bachleda landed a lead role in Trade, as Veronika, where she acted alongside Kevin Kline.

The movie centered on the underground business of sex-trafficking in Mexico and a 17 year old boys fight to find and save his sister, 13 year old Veronika, who was kidnapped to be sold into the industry. Alicja Bachleda then moved on to Ondine in 2009 where she played the lead female role, Ondine, next to Collin Farrell. The movie focused on an Irish fisherman who one day, while fishing, finds a heavy catch in his net. On reeling in his overweight catch he discovers a woman in the net, whom he begins to believe is a Water Nymp, or Selke.

In 2010 Alicja Bachleda starred in Friendship! as Zoey and then moved on to The Girl’s is in Trouble in 2011, where she played Signe in a sort of murder mystery about a bartender who becomes entangled in dealings with a woman, a businessman and a missing drug dealer. The movie also starred Columbus Short and Jesse Spencer who plays Chase in the hit TV Series House M.D.
